Key to Form
Guide Web file
contents......
Match Selection.
Down the left hand column are the matches
which appear on the weekend
bookmaker's fixed-odds football coupon. Click on these to view a
match analysis.
Coupon Line No. Each analysis page begins with the line number
and the two teams involved.
Only teams in English and Scottish leagues are analysed. The date of the Saturday included
in the bookie's weekend coupon is shown.... which is not necessarily the precise match
date
( there may be some Sunday matches for example ).
League Encounters. Previous UK league encounters between the
two teams are listed.
Up to a maximum of ten matches may be shown. A
search for matches is made back to,
and including, season
1990-91. There follows a summary of past wins, draws and losses.
Recent Form. The most recent form of each team is listed. Up
to ten matches per team.
Latest results at the top of the
list. Recent totals for wins, draws and losses are summarised.
League Table. An extract from league tables shows each team's
position in that league
division and gives totals for...
matches played, wins, draws, losses, goals scored, goals lost
and league points. This is followed by comparative league table statistics.
Rateform Points. Computer generated values which provide a useful guide to the
relative abilities
of each team, but no claims are made
concerning the accuracy of the accompanying predictions.
A description of the rateform method can be found here....
Mabel's Form Guide
Best Odds. The 'form guide' is completed by listing the best home,
draw and away long-list odds
available when five major UK
bookies' weekend coupons are compared. Both traditional UK
and
decimal odds values are given.
Note : Due to the large size of files involved, the various
graphics files provided online with
Mabel's Form Guide are not included in the compressed files
forwarded to e-mail subscribers.
The bar charts and graphs are omitted. In
addition, the online pages may show match odds from
one specific bookmaker. The weekly
email file provides the 'best odds' available when five
'High Street' bookies are compared.... William Hill, Coral,
SuperSoccer, Stanley and Ladbrokes.
