CJ's Club prides itself as one of the top leisure attractions
in the
Kingdom of Fife thanks to the considerable investment, time and
imagination lavished upon it. It is for these reasons that CJ's
functions so superbly as a local community venue where people
from all walks of life can freely mix and socialise in security and
comfort.
This happy state of affairs did not happen by chance. CJ's
owners and management are a family who have had years of
experience in running both a successful hotel and a busy town
centre bar in the local area. They have clearly learned much
about teamwork and what makes such an enterprise a success.
Very high on the agenda are staff quality and customer
service. Team-building is all important, so there are
numerous get-togethers and a training regime which undoubtedly
works to great effect. The family spend considerable time within
the Club ensuring that members and visitors are enjoying their
visit and that the pristine bar is always warm and
welcoming. A keen interest is taken to ensure regular supply of new
brands of drinks, in addition to the well-established malts,
liqueurs, fine wines and spirits.... always available from a well-stocked gantry. Other features include easy
access with free parking just yards from the entrance, security door CCTV and big screen
television for top sports events.
A Function Suite incorporating a
split-level concept for entertainment has now opened. It is
named the 'Palace Nitespot'.
A landscaped beer garden
is in the pipeline. And of course CJ's will continue to engage live entertainment to suit its broad mix of clientele
from youngsters through to the older generation of
regulars.
An essential ingredient of CJ's is the superb
pool arena.
CJ's Premier Pool can boast of six truly
'championship' nineball tables. Yes, these were the actual
tables used in the 2000 World Pool Championships and shipped
to CJ's on completion of that tournament. So, play on the
very same 'Brunswick' once graced by the likes of Steve Davis, Jimmy
White, Jim Rempe, Fong Pang Chao, Francisco Bustamante and other stars.
Furthermore, fans of pool on 'Sky Sports' will no doubt have seen CJ's
member, senior referee and European Eightball Champion Michaela Tabb
supervising matches in the World Pool Championships, Mosconi Cup and other tournaments in which
'Brunswick' tables have featured.
It is clear that these tables are the
professional player's choice and appreciated worldwide by players
and room owners alike for their quality, accuracy and supreme
playability.
In addition there are four 'Riley' eightball tables of the kind used in international and championship pool.
Local player and Scottish pool legend Ross McInnes won
his many World and Scottish EightBall Championships on such tables.
And while name-dropping, another member of CJ's is Laurie Annandale the
well-known TV snooker referee and acclaimed 'cue-doctor' to top
snooker players such as John Higgins and Stephen
Hendry.
CJ's sponsor pool teams
participating in the Dunfermline and District Pool League.
Certainly one of the best supported and most successful pool
leagues in Scotland. DDPL regularly provide players for international duties in male, female and
junior Scotland teams. And CJ's are always keen to have new players
join our own teams.
All good reasons
for visiting CJ's.... the "Pool Palace".
